You can listen Call of Duty Modern Warfare II (2022) Review here.
In our article, we will examine the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II game that Activision commissioned from Infinity Ward in 2022.
Yes it is very expensive. Yes, they have followed a formula and are releasing a new game every year without adding any innovations. Maybe if they released it every two years, its quality would increase even more, but they always want to release it every year and earn more.
Okay, if we wrote the clichés, let’s put them aside now. Let’s write at the beginning what we will write at the end, the game is flawless. Dear reader, it is flawless. Of course, we can offer many criticisms in terms of aspects that can be improved, menu designs and general progress, but Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is the best Call of Duty I have played in recent years.
Story of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II
This time, the game begins with an illegal arms exchange between Russia and Iran. Our team is killing the Iranian general in charge of this exchange. One of the general’s soldiers is planning a terrorist act to take revenge.
Throughout the game, we try to reveal what this action is. We enter into conflicts in peaceful countries in the heart of Europe and see how adept the Mexican cartels are in smuggling American products.
In the game, we get into a lot of action, from the missions where we watch over our teammates from the helicopter, to the moments when we serve as a sniper, to the scenes of car conflict. We experience a fast-paced action experience, from chasing cities, infiltrating ports, to diving into bases.
The play time is criticized for being short, but I think it is appropriate for such a fast-paced production. If it had gone on a little longer, we would have thought that the incident was being dragged out. Although each character has a story from their past, there are too many characters for such a short story. This makes it difficult for the gamer to identify with the characters he manages.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II General Evaluation
Especially the intros of Call of Duty games are very striking and fast. The introduction of Call of Duty Modern Warfare II opens at a great pace, so you will have no problem getting into the story. The fact that some parts of the story take place in elite countries in Europe also serves as a criticism of the free movement of many criminals in Europe, which has begun to be voiced in recent years.
Unlike other games, this game has high tension sections where we have to develop something by collecting objects around and large conflict areas that make us think that it was designed to be used in the online mode, but which we also experienced well in the story mode. Contrary to general criticism, I especially liked the loot sections where we developed weapons by collecting objects from the environment and the conflicts in large areas. However, loot may need a little more work. In this form, it is thought to be designed only for online mode. If it develops, it will be an innovation that improves and expands Call of Duty games.
Apart from all this, there is a very, very important problem. It is possible to say this for all first-person oriented war games, but I think Call of Duty Modern Warfare II, in particular, has a serious problem in terms of aestheticizing violence. A war game must contain striking scenes that show that violence and war are the worst things in the world, as shown in previous Call of Duty games. For example, as I have previously written a review of on reviewsofgame.com, we have seen scenes that made our blood run cold in Call of Duty Modern Warfare, which was released in 2019, and in previous games. There are characters here who praise each other as they kill people.
Another thing that irritates me is that Call of Duty installs each new game on an application that opens together with the previous games. It is impossible to understand whether I bought an expansion pack for a game or whether I will play a new game. I spent so much money and bought a game, but I still open the Call of Duty application and try to find where the new game I bought was added. We understand that your priority is your online game, but I think changing this situation will provide positive feedback.
Call of Duty brand, there is now almost a Modern Warfare brand. Well, when this brand is strong, it becomes inevitable to release games with the same name, but it is impossible to understand why they use the exact same name as in 2009. The story is different, the characters are different… Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Lost Ballistic, for example, why is it called Call of Duty Modern Warfare II?
That’s all I have to say. They don’t recommend the next Call of Duty game. I can’t buy it, play it and review it unless I get a solid discount. Take care until we meet again for another game review.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II Review
Briefly My Opinion
The game is flawless. Dear reader, it is flawless. Of course, we can offer many criticisms in terms of aspects that can be improved, menu designs and general progress, but Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is the best Call of Duty I have played in recent years.
