We will examine the action-packed Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception, the third game in the Uncharted series released in 2011.
Uncharted series; An unforgettable video game series that was released years ago for Playstation, telling action-packed treasure stories similar to Indiana Jones. It is a multi-layered and deepening classic masterpiece that has better aspects than Indiana Jones with its magnificent fiction that it captures with each new game.
Of course, being a classic for uncharted, which looks like a fast-paced American movie, is not a literary and artistic situation, but Uncharted is an important building block in terms of storytelling with video games.
I think games are a new storytelling tool that humanity has discovered. I am sure that if we do not consume the disgraceful online combat games so much, we will encounter much more classic, unforgettable games such as Uncharted. Because while these online shooting games were not that popular, unique games with great stories were coming out.
But of course, the story is something that has a beginning and an end, and it ends when played. Since game companies cannot sell anything else related to the game to a player who has completed the story, considering the already costly production processes instead of story games that take twenty hours, they prefer to produce a single game without a story, based on the same logic, to sell add-ons within the game and earn more money from the game. they do.
But in all this confusion and in the rapidly changing market, there are companies that offer old-school, in-depth stories without spoiling themselves. One of the most outstanding examples of these is Naughty Dog, the inventor of unforgettable works such as Uncharted and The Last of Us.
Naughty Dog, founded by two artistic people who are passionate about computers and games, has a special place for players with many productions specific to Playstation for years. But the first and most popular of these special productions is, of course, the Uncharted Series.
We have previously reviewed the previous games of the Uncharted series here. This time, we will focus on Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception, the third game of the legendary narrative series.
The most important aspect of the Uncharted series is that each released game expands the previous narrative, adding depth to it and making it bigger. It’s the same thing that happened in Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception. For example, we have been going to Nathan Drake and Sally‘s past for the first time in how many games, even though we are two graveyard robbers who have been in business together for years. For example, when the players see the past of the characters, they identify with them even more provocatively and playing the game turns into a more delicious experience, for example.
The return to the past here is not the past that a screenwriter whose muse has faded to has nothing left to tell. On the contrary, the story takes place in the present, but the episodes from the past years that we play from time to time both complement today’s narrative and provide very aesthetic moments in cinematic terms.
Story of The Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception
Let me tell you without any spoiler. We start Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception with an object that made Nathan Drake and Sally befriend twenty years ago, and a treasure story that they couldn’t find a continuation.
It was very nice to see Nathan and Sally, who we were used to seeing in casual clothes at the beginning of the game, in suits. They looked like James Bond. Despite its clichés, the beginning of the game was a quality that encompassed the player with its solid twist.
Our team has expanded this time with our ex Chloe and her friend Charlie Cutter. I have to say that I particularly like the bald Charlie Cutter, and despite being a new character, I had no trouble warming up.
Together with this team, we are running from London to the underground cellars and from there to Syria. As we know from the old games, we meet again with our one and only love, Elena Fisher, and we witness that our bond with her deepens (Let me tell you the end, don’t let her get excited now).
Do You Have to Fİnish Previous Games to Play Uncharted 3
You don’t need to have finished the previous games to enjoy and play the game, but it is a fact that completing the previous games will increase the enjoyment you get from Uncharted 3 Drake Deception.
Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception General Evaluation
The game is one of the most action-packed Uncharted games I’ve ever played. Especially the scenes we spent in the desert and on the rocks full of pirates are an aesthetic masterpiece. He won’t grin if we get his painting made and hang it in our living room.
They put it above the previous game in terms of fighting mechanics. If you wish, they have paved the way for you to go more privacy-oriented.
The allusions to James Bond and derivative movies are nice. It seems like a pointless and unnecessary fictional mistake for them to find the secret passage by chance while escaping from someone in one place of the script, but nema problema. It is also strange that this secret passage, which was found by chance, also has a gigantic manhole cover in the form of a grid, under which you can easily see, but what can I say, they must have something to tell.
These are the little things, the spice of the job… Otherwise Uncharted 3 Drake’s Deception is one of the best Uncharted games I’ve played. It’s a near-perfect experience, from the plane scene to the love scene, from the way he tells the story to the way he handles it technically. Despite eleven years, it is a magnificent masterpiece that can be played again with today’s excitement.
